What makes IV Vitamin Therapy work wonders?
We’re sure you’ve recently heard a lot about Vitamin Therapy… that it’s being used by celebrities like Adele, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jane Fonda, Chrissy Teigen and a host of others.
Have you wondered what it’s all about and whether it could be for you?
What is Vitamin Therapy?
In Vitamin Therapy, vitamins are administered into the body intravenously directly into the blood stream, by passing the digestive system and all the ‘obstacles’ along the way. Through this method, the absorption of vitamins is 100%.
One of the key benefits of this kind of vitamin infusion is that it can be customised to your specific body requirements.
You may ask the question, “Do we need it? Don’t we get all the vitamins we need through our food.”
The truth is that most of us are deficient in some vitamin or the other. Whilst these IV Vitamin drips are by no means a substitute for healthy eating and a well-balanced diet, they have been known to help even out vitamin imbalances. When used over several sessions, they have shown noticeable changes in vitamin levels in the body.
How it works at Vitacare?
Before the infusion therapy we assess our clients for specific requirements, and we look at your medical history. We are extremely careful about making sure that we get all your medical details before making any recommendations. Our health professional colleagues are medically trained and know exactly what they are doing.
Our vitamin drip recommendations are based on a number of factors including:
- Current health and any long-term health conditions
- Mental well-being
- Health goals
The process takes about 30 – 45minutes. The infusion therapy is not painful, and you can go on with your daily activities immediately afterwards.
What vitamins and minerals can be given via IV?
- Vitamin C
- B- Vitamins
- Amino Acids
The IV drips are usually a combination of these depending on their purpose.
A little history…
One of the first IV Vitamin Therapy ‘cocktails’ was the MYERS cocktail, created by John Myers, MD, a physician from Baltimore in the 1950’s. This cocktail consisted of a combination of magnesium chloride, calcium gluconate, thiamine, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, calcium pantothenate, vitamin B complex, vitamin C, and dilute hydro- chloric acid.
According to an article by Dr. Alan Gaby in “altmedreview,” “Conditions that frequently responded included asthma attacks, acute migraines, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome), fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, and seasonal allergic rhinitis. A small number of patients with congestive heart failure, angina, chronic urticaria, hyperthyroidism, dysmenorrhea, or other conditions were also treated with the Myers’ and most showed marked improvement. Many relatively healthy patients chose to receive periodic injections because it enhanced their overall well– being for periods of a week to several months.”
Today, there are several vitamin, mineral and amino acid combinations that can be created to achieve incredible results.
